About
Who We are
In 2018, the Toro Belle Literacy Foundation was formed to carry forth the founder’s passion for literacy and literature in the founders’ home country Uganda. The mission of the Foundation is to transform lives of the youth in Uganda through advocacy for the significance of a good reading culture for all the advantages that come with reading and knowledge expansion. The Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all youth through the power of literacy, i.e. the ability to read, write, speak clearly, and think critically.

Empowering Futures Through Literacy and Learning
This section showcases inspiring stories from beneficiaries, highlighting the impact of our literacy programs.
I was the second beneficiary of the Foundation’s Literature Scholarship (S5–S6). As an orphan, I often struggled with school fees but found hope in books and my love for Literature. The Foundation supported my A-level education with a scholarship that changed my life. Through mentorship from the Founder, my grades improved significantly, enabling my admission to Victoria University to study Procurement. The support I received shaped my academic journey and restored my confidence. I encourage others never to give up and to actively support and participate in the Foundation’s programs, which transform lives through education and mentorship.

I was the first beneficiary of the Foundation’s Literature Scholarship, supporting me from S5 to S6. After Senior 4, I was at my wits’ end and unsure if I would continue studying. Because of my passion for literature, the Foundation sponsored my A-level education. I was also mentored by the Founder, who encouraged me to pursue my dreams and achieve my ambitions. The scholarship enabled me to complete my A-level and shaped my academic direction. I encourage others to participate in the Foundation’s programs and take advantage of the mentorship and opportunities offered.
